• Smart marketing: In honor of MSR’s 50 anniversary this year, its PR company, Verde Brand Communications, dug deep into the archives and posted three press releases from 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. It’s a glimpse back in time to when the company was “an organization of persons interested in promoting mountaineering safety, as part of their own enjoyment of the sport,” said Larry Penberthy, MSR Founder, in the company’s first newsletter in 1969.

  • PrimaLoft concluded its search for a Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and announced that Jim Frazier will take on the role. Frazier brings with him a lifetime of product design, product development, market positioning and go-to-market strategy experience.
  • Vasque has expanded its sales team to include two new agencies—The Steve Ray Outdoor Sales team, which will cover California, Nevada and Arizona, and Waypoint Outdoor to cover the Rockies.

  • As part of the launch of the Wigwam’s new SynchroKnit technology, the brand is hosting “Run for Your Cause” and will donate 100 pair of socks for every 30-minutes run on their treadmill in their booth during the Outdoor Retailer show in Denver next week.
