Golden, CO (July 14, 2014) – Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear— will debut the Mountain Dome series of tents alongside their new collection of J-Zip sleeping bags, at Summer Outdoor Retailer. Innovative and built for rugged outdoor conditions, these new Mountainsmith products offer adventurers versatility to brave the elements, no matter what Mother Nature throws their way.
“For 2015, we’re evolving our tent and sleeping bag offerings into a more technical direction while still being mindful of the importance of value and approachability for our customers,” says Luke Boldman, Mountainsmith Design Lead & Product Line Manager. “Our design focus on these camp shelters and sleeping bag styles has been on enhancing the usability and functionality of the product while laying down a technical edge that would otherwise not be seen at these price points in the market. Our goal is to include first time campers/backpackers with an approachable price while accommodating the core consumer with feature rich, innovative details. A more overt technical story combined with rock-solid durability and ease of use is the hallmark of our design approach for 2015 and years to come.”
New for 2015, the three-season Mountain Dome 3 (Three-Person / MSRP $269.95) and 2 (Two-Person / MSRP $239.95) will complement the success of the feature-rich and price-friendly line of Mountainsmith shelters and improve upon them with innovation and versatility. With two doors and two large vestibules, the Mountain Dome’s unique hexagonal shape and three-pole design with two Stabili-Hubs offers unrivaled headroom, gear storage and stability during the windiest of storms. Never skimping on materials, a 68d Poly Ripstop tent body and fly with PU2000mm coating and Bathtub Floor Construction with PU5000mm coating make both tents ultra tough and weather warriors. Not looking to set up your full tent body? For added value, the Mountain Dome series features an ultralight fast fly shelter set-up, using the included footprint, poles and fly only.
