BOZEMAN, Mont. (Jan. 4, 2017) – Sitka Gear, the leader in performance hunting gear, is pleased to introduce its GORE™OPTIFADE™ Subalpine concealment pattern.

“Subalpine is the culmination of years of hard-work, research, and field observation from dedicated hunters," said David Brinker, Big Game Marketing Manager at Sitka Gear. “We designed the Subalpine pattern specifically for vegetated environments, giving hunters the ability to better engage animals at closer distances.”

The Subalpine launch will include the new and improved version of Sitka’s best-selling Ascent Series, the lightest and most performance-oriented system that Sitka has ever offered. Developed for the modern-day mountain athlete during the early season, the Ascent Series is built from innovative synthetic fabrics that are exceptionally lightweight and incredibly durable.

The series will include the Ascent Shirt and Pants, a vest to keep your gear close at hand, as well as the Ascent Gaiter, which was designed without traditional buckles that catch on brush and make unwanted noise. Each product features a permanent anti-microbial Polygiene™ treatment to reduce body odor, mesh pockets for ventilation and streamlined components for fast, unencumbered movements in the mountains. Rounding out the series is the Ascent Glove, which features conductive thread technology to easily run a touchscreen GPS or phone, and the Ascent Cap and Sitka Sun Hat for bright days.

“We took the feedback from our athletes and ambassadors, and created a system that matches the demands of early season hunting,” said John Barklow, Product Developer at Sitka. “We designed each piece to perform a dynamic function, whether you are charging up a steep incline or ambushing game at close quarters in thick timber, the Ascent Series simply performs.”

All new outerwear pieces will also be offered in the Subalpine collection, including the waterproof Gore-Tex adorned Thunderhead Jacket, Pant and Gaiter. Subalpine pieces will be available for pre-order at www.sitkagear.com on March 15, 2017.
