(Boulder, Colo.) – Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) recently launched a new and enhanced sustainable business section on its website. Dedicated to providing information on priority sustainability topics, the enhancements and user-friendly format offer deep insight, while helping industry professionals easily access the tools and resources designed to improve supply chain environmental and social responsibility.

Tackling big issues in an engaging way with short videos and graphics, the site provides resources like materials standards, social responsibility program guidance, training resources, and priority issue briefings on topics like flame retardants, microfibers, durable water repellency, and wool. The new format focuses on priority issues in the supply chain including animal welfare, chemicals management, social responsibility, and the Higg Index. It also includes a dedicated section for collaboration and opportunities to work with fellow outdoor industry professionals on supply chain issues.

“Collaboration has been and continues to be the most valuable resource we have as an industry and one of the primary reasons for the success of the OIA Sustainability Working Group,” said Beth Jensen, OIA’s director of sustainable business innovation. “Our ability to work together as an industry will continue to be the greatest strength of our sustainable supply chain efforts. From the very beginning of the OIA Sustainability Working Group, our priority has been to ensure that the tools and resources we develop for the industry are easily accessible. We hope that this new website format will provide continued transparency and shed more light on the industry’s sustainability efforts, while also providing easier access to tools.”

Visit the new website to learn more about the industry’s sustainability efforts, join the OIA Sustainability Working Group, or participate in regularly scheduled sustainability events throughout the year, like the OIA Sustainability Insights Conference and the Sustainability Working Group meetings held at Outdoor Retailer.
