Much more than a trail-running film, FIFTY is every bit as unique and ambitious as the adventure it traces. It combines the most spectacular footage of New Zealand trail running and mountain scenery ever captured on film while telling a powerful story of hope and the strength of a community. FIFTY captures what’s possible when thousands stand behind one man to achieve something truly and utterly remarkable.

FIFTY documents the highs and lows of Law’s bold 2015 mountain challenge to run and raise awareness for mental health, called the Partners Life High Five-0 Challenge for Mental Health. The challenge raised over a half-million dollars for the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand and prompted a national dialogue about mental health.

For Law, an experienced trail runner and owner of Running Wild NZ, a running vacation company, the High Five-O challenge was more epic than he ever could have anticipated. Beset by injuries early on, and later by a devastating loss, the documentary demonstrates Law’s difficulty in overcoming significant adversity to complete his mission.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, arguably the greatest living explorer, says: “FIFTY is a truly remarkable and inspiring film that proves how much the human body and the human spirit are capable of when powered by a deep and selfless purpose. Set against the stunning backdrop of wild New Zealand mountain landscapes, it makes for compelling, gripping viewing.”

New Zealand trail running legend Anna Frost calls the film “heartbreakingly beautiful on every level” and Ian Corless, of Talk Ultra, says, “FIFTY will inspire the armchair athlete in all of us to think outside the box, push boundaries and think what if?”

Viewers can preview the film and purchase a downloadable copy for $19.95 USD at http://www.fiftythemovie.co.nz/.

Information and dates for documentary screenings of the film in the U.S. hosted by Malcolm Law later this year will also be posted on the website.
