SealSkinz Appoints Brendan Collins as National Accounts Manager and Introduces its Spring/Summer 2017 Line at Interbike

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - September 15, 2016 - SealSkinz, the leading manufacturer of patented waterproof and breathable accessories, today announced the hiring of Brendan Collins to the position of national accounts manager. He reports to U.S. Country Manager Shawn Pritchett. 

"Brendan's relationships and his knowledge of specialty retail, combined with his outstanding sales and customer service skills, set him apart from other candidates," stated Pritchett. "He's a great addition to our team."

Collins most recently worked for bike and outdoor accessory manufacturer Seattle Sports Company, starting there in 2013 as its western sales manager. He became its national sales manager in mid-2014, handling key outdoor specialty retailer accounts in the U.S. and Canada and directing its sales team.

Prior to this, he worked in sales and customer service for camping equipment manufacturer Exped and the Minneapolis-based retailer Midwest Mountaineering, where he was a department coordinator for three and a half years. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, he also has experience guiding kayak and overland tours in New Zealand.

Collins starts with SealSkinz next week, where it is exhibiting at the Interbike International Bicycle Expo in Las Vegas, Nev. Sept. 21-23.

At Interbike, SealSkinz will introduce its largest and most comprehensive collection of road- and mountain-specific items to date. The brand has grown in popularity with IBDs and its sales are up 98% in this channel year-to-date in 2016.

Pritchett credits the company's growth in the bike segment to strong demand, based on a uniquely diversified product offering, and SealSkinz' increasing customer brand recognition. 

One new product that will be unveiled at Interbike is the Dragon Eye MTB Ultralite Glove (MSRP $45), which is a lightweight, flexible and close-fitting single-layer glove created exclusively for mountain biking. It features touchscreen-friendly finger and thumb tips, a synthetic suede palm, and zero padding for maximum control and feel on the trail.

SealSkinz is also launching a thinner iteration of its mountain biking sock, the MTB Thin Mid with Hydrostop (MSRP $58). It features SealSkinz' patented StretchDry waterproof technology and silicone-free taping inside the cuff to prevent the ingress of water and help hold the sock in place.
