RootsRated Mobile App Spurs Exponential Growth

Higher web traffic and downloads indicate successful business model

Chattanooga, Tenn. (July 30, 2014) – RootsRated, the online resource for “where to go outdoors,” celebrates the growth of the website and the Rootsrated iOS mobile app with over 12,000 downloads since in its launch in mid-June. Detailed RootsRated reviews and directions identify a city’s very best outdoor experiences: where to hike, climb, trail run, cycle, and paddle – even where to grab a bite or drink afterward. By partnering with local outdoor retail shops and premium brands, RootsRated continues to perfect a unique business model that empowers more people to get outside while harnessing the expertise of the outdoor industry.

“I couldn’t be happier about the response to the mobile app and the rich content our writers push out on a daily basis,” says Fynn Glover, Founder of RootsRated. “Site traffic is up 13,250% since January and we surpassed our goal of 10,000 unique visitors in mid-July. Looking ahead, we’ll continue to do what we do best while adding new cities and destinations around the country.”

Unlike other travel and destination apps, RootsRated has partnered with brands and local specialty retailers to support outdoor recreation at a grassroots level. Leading brands like Toyota, Marmot and Vasque have recognized RootsRated’s unique capability to connect the entire outdoor supply chain. By promoting sustainability of the industry and access to open spaces, both brands and retailers are able to deepen the connection with their customers and grow the their businesses on the whole.

In 2014, RootsRated will continue to support local retailers and engage outdoor-minded customers by adding more cities and outdoor destination reviews. RootsRated also plans to host more hyper-local events including: retailer Pint Nights, online local contests, run and cycling meet-up events and more.
