Outdoor Research hat line evolves in Fall 2014 with new technologies, new styles in ski, HighEx, mountain life

SEATTLE, Wash. – Well known for setting the bar in technical and mountain life headwear, for Fall 2014 Outdoor Research continues to expand its performance category, and also adds a variety of women’s mountain lifestyle hats, designed for casual use with underlying technical performance.

Barrow Beanie – The Barrow Beanie blends a casual around-town look with a warm, comfortable feel. A 100% full polyester lining ensures breathable warmth, while a pom-pom matched with vibrant colors ensures a fresh mountain look. $25.

Skye Beanie – Using a cashmere, angora and lambswool blend, the Sky Beanie feels as luxurious and soft as it sounds. For women looking for a beautiful, functional yet casual look, the cable knit pattern and ribbed cuff provides a superb balance. $40.

Trailbreaker Beanie – Evolved from the tried-and-proven Trailbreaker Pants, the Trailbreaker Beanie employs a stretch softshell exterior for weather resistance and wind protection. Inside, a Radiant LT fleece earband lining keeps thing cozy. Laser-cut earholes allow for unimpaired hearing and ports on the exterior provide sunglass integration. $29.

Nord Hat – With a 100% polyester exterior and a Radiant LT fleece earband, the Nord Hat is focused on providing weather protection during aerobic activities in a highly wicking package. The quick-drying polyester fabric uses Polygiene for odor control. $23.

Luster Beanie/Headband – The double-layer micro polyester and spandex blend of the Luster Beanie deflects biting winds and excels at wicking moisture during high-exertion activities. Couple its technical features with paisley and plaid prints, and the Luster offers a creative and fun hat for the Nordic track or other high-exertion pursuits. The Luster Headband takes the technical aspects of the Beanie and puts them in a higher-venting package. $29, $19.

Svalbard Beanie – Made from 100% lambswool, the redesigned Svalbard Beanie keeps you warm in the coldest conditions and ensures style points with its classic plaid exterior. A Gore WINDSTOPPER fabric earband provides wind protection and laser-cut earholes allow for unimpaired hearing. $34.

Endeavor Hat – A modern take on the classic Gore WINDSTOPPER Outdoor Research hatWINDSTOPPER, the Endeavor Hat offers ultimate performance via hybrid construction with its segmented fleece crown, WINDSTOPPER earband and back stretch panels. $29.

Longhouse Cap – With its sweater-knit, heathered polyester fabric, flatlock stitching, stylish brim and graded earband, the Longhouse Cap is sophisticated looking and highly functional. $27.

Exit Cap – An update to the Exit Cap offers a cleaner and more modern look. A breathable and warm AlpinWool fabric is used for increased functionality and style. The updated radar silhouette has a structured brim and a soft, moisture-wicking fleece interior. $30.

Women’s Flurry Cap – Stay protected in the backcountry or on a hike with the Flurry Cap all while maintaining a touch of style. A wool blend exterior, using AlpinWool, and a soft fleece lining keeps you warm and feels comfortable against the skin. $32

Carlisle Cap – Take your favorite trucker hat, winterize is it with warm wool on the crown, brim and back adjustment, and you have the Carlisle Cap. A fun and stylish sweater knit panel on the front gives you some added bonus points. $34

Prismatic Cap – The updated, fully seam taped Prismatic Cap offers an expedition-worthy design with a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex exterior and a Radiant Fleece earband for warmth. A structured plastic brim deflects light snow/rain and helps to shield glare, while a one-hand back adjustment allows for easy on-the-go fixes. $45.
