Rohnert Park (CA): Marmot is pleased to announce Joe Flannery as the company’s first-ever General Manager, a new position with global responsibility for product, sales and marketing. Flannery, well-known for growing and fortifying several prominent outdoor industry brands, brings a unique balance of experience in marketing, sales, product development and operational excellence to Marmot.
Over the past twenty years, Flannery has been a key contributor to the success of many brands in the outdoor and sporting goods industries. Early in his career, Flannery gained valuable footwear and lifestyle product experience at Adidas, working in Herzogenaurach, Germany and Portland, Oregon. During his time at The North Face as Vice President of Marketing, Flannery was part of a high-growth environment, directing a global strategic marketing plan. In subsequent years, Flannery worked as a global marketing consultant for other well-known brands in the outdoor industry. Most recently, Flannery has served as the president of Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH), the largest heli-ski operator in the world and distinguished the company with superior customer service, world-class logistics planning, simultaneously navigating through a challenging ‘weather dependent’ business model.
In addition to his extensive outdoor industry background, Flannery is also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying a lifetime of alpine and backcountry skiing. He’s also a passionate world-traveler and has visited dozens of countries throughout Asia, Africa and Europe.
