JACKSON HOLE, WY (March 5, 2014) – Garage Grown Gear, the online magazine and e-commerce store that connects people to innovative, high-performing and wildly cool outdoor gear, is set to launch March 17 to March 23 with seven days of gear giveaways.

“At Garage Grown Gear, we connect people to the innovators of today and the icons of tomorrow in the outdoor industry,” said the company’s CEO and founder, Amy Hatch.

Garage Grown Gear grew out of Hatch’s deep involvement in the sport of packrafting. In 2011, Hatch founded Jackson Hole Packraft & Packraft Rentals Anywhere. Her own experience growing a business from a garage opened her eyes to the many innovative outdoor gear manufacturers taking a grassroots approach.

She realized that these garage grown companies are driving innovation and creating dependable products. However, often these companies struggle to build a brand and reach customers. Garage Grown Gear helps companies clear this hurdle and helps customers find and purchase unique, quality outdoor gear.

“The story of the outdoor equipment, clothing and nutrition companies we work with follows a similar thread,” Hatch said. “An individual goes on an adventure and thinks, ‘I wish I had a small raft to cross this turbulent river’ or ‘hey, wouldn't it be nice if this piece of equipment weighed less’ or ‘why not jazz up these technical outdoor clothes with more color and style.’ This individual - often an engineer, designer or other professional - then returns home, begins tinkering and, behold, a business is born.”

Giveaways on tap include: a Summit Pack from Hyperlite Mountain Gear, two quilts from enLIGHTened equipment, a canoe paddle from Shearwater Webbed Paddles, Tram Bars from Kate's Real Food, packraft rentals from Jackson Hole Packraft & Packraft Rentals Anywhere, several River Runner coozies from Give'r and a Shades Anti-Bottle from VapurFarm to Feet is also offering a discount code on socks as part of the launch. To enter the giveaways visit www.garagegrowngear.com during launch week.
