DRIGGS, ID – Garage Grown Gear recently added the 54th brand to its online store focused on innovative outdoor startups.
“This is a significant milestone for us, especially since our online store is just a year old” CEO Amy Hatch said.
Garage Grown Gear vets each product and company it features. The result is a curated collection of new products in the outdoor industry.
“We are so thrilled to be helping these small companies get their name out and connect them with customers,” Store Manager Chris Jensen said. “And we love helping people discover unique outdoor gear that allows them to get out more often, longer, harder or faster.”
Garage Grown Gear takes the unique approach of blending an online store with an online magazine. It shares startup stories and reviews gear in its online magazine, and then sells equipment, clothing and food from its favorite companies in its online store.
Top sellers in Garage Grown Gear’s store come from brands such as Supai (supaiadventuregear.com), Good-to-Go (http://goodto-go.com), and Give’r (http://www.give-r.com). Garage Grown Gear expects to continue its growth with close to 300 prospects in its database. It finds these early-stage outdoor companies primarily through word-of-mouth.
“People reach out to us constantly to let us know about this or that gem of a company they just stumbled on,” Hatch said. “Our team is excited for the momentum, but mostly we’re just glad to pass on the beta that’s been so freely shared with us.”
