Deuter USA Introduces New AIRCOMFORT Futura Series Packs

Longmont, CO (July 17, 2013) – Deuter USA introduces a line of new Futura Series packs based on the award-winning AIRCOMFORT back system. The Futura range is a classic with progress in mind: the legendary hiking packs for day or multiday excursions include three series: the Futura, Futura Pro and Futura Vario Pro.

30 years ago, Deuter introduced the AIRCOMFORT back system, which revolutionized the backpack market. The mesh back created air space between backpack and wearer for a significant reduction in perspiration. This unique design reduces perspiration by 25%. The patented system has been copied over the years and has now become an industry standard. Deuter celebrates the AIRCOMFORT jubilee by updating the legendary Futura range.

The Futura System debuts three panel loading packs and three top loading packs, including two SL (women’s) models and one EL (designed for long torso lengths) ranging from 20 liters to 35 liters. These packs feature integrated detachable rain covers, the AIRCOMFORT back system that reduces perspiration by 25%, and separate bottom compartment access with internal zip divider. Deuter increased the capacity of the side bellows pockets to accommodate hydration reservoirs. The Flex Lite and Flex Lite Twin frame systems integrate a durable spring steel frame for excellent stability. They carry heavier loads comfortably with flexibility over any terrain.

With five new styles, the AIRCOMFORT Futura Pro System brings together AIRCOMFORT ventilation, superb load transfer and the VARIFLEX pivoting hip belt. The spring steel wire design combined with a horizontal stay provides superb load transfer. Additional features include an integrated detachable rain cover, contoured, padded 3D AirMesh shoulder straps, zippered side bellows pockets large enough to hold reservoirs, and a separate bottom compartment with internal zip divider. Five new styles include two SL (women’s) packs and one EL (long torso) and range in volume from 34 liters to 44 liters.

In addition to the standard Futura series features, the new Futura Vario Pro 45+10 SL and 50+10 tout the VARIFIT adjustable shoulder harness to customize fit for different torso lengths. Spring steel wire frame design combined with two horizontal stays reinforced with a PE frame sheet provides superb load transfer. A large U-shaped front panel access allows easy access to gear.

Available at retail in spring 2014, the redesigned and new AIRCOMFORT line of packs include the Futura, Futura Pro and Futura Vario Pro systems and new AC Aera line.

To celebrate 30 years of AIRCOMFORT packs, Deuter USA has created special retail sales programs and promotions. Deuter USA developed retail buying incentives as well as a Gift With Purchase program for the Futura Pro and Futura Vario Pro (MSRP of $19.95) to promote the product. Additionally, partnering with Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides, retail sales associates of Deuter dealers may be eligible to win a Yosemite hiking trip and Deuter packs to promote sales of this iconic product line.
