Irvine, CA, September 15th, 2016 -- ZAMST, a global leader in high-performance sports prevention and protective equipment, announced today that they will continue their partnership with two-time Olympic gold medalist and professional ice hockey center and Captain, Ryan Getzlaf.

Known as a power forward and playmaker, Getzlaf has spent his entire professional career with Anaheim and has led the Ducks in assists seven times, including a franchise record of 66 in 2008–09. The two-time Olympian and gold medalist for Canada has also played in three NHL All-Star Games and was a member of the Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup championship team.

Having suffered injuries including an ankle sprain in 2010 ahead of the Winter Olympics, Getzlaf understands the role that bracing and support products play in coming back from injury alongside preventing further damage to the body. After working hard through therapy to recover and help to lead Canada to a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics, Getzlaf aligned with Zamst in a partnership to determine the best bracing and support solutions which are integral to a hockey player’s performance, such as the A1-S, a low profile brace that stabilizes the ankle and the ZK-7 knee support. The successful partnership facilitated Getzlaf’s return to the Canadian roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where his performance was credited as one of the key aspects of Canada's successful defense of their Olympic title, overcoming Sweden 3-0 to win the gold medal.

“Collaborating with Zamst has helped me play to the best of my ability to help lead my team to several victories,” said Getzlaf. “I am impressed by how knowledgeable the Zamst team is when it comes to addressing my individual protection and prevention needs to keep me at the top of my game and I look forward to continuing our winning partnership.”

“Ryan has been dominating the sport and we are proud to stand behind him and partner with him to keep him healthy and at his best,” said Bryan Smeltzer, General Manager of Zamst USA. “We are always looking to innovate and provide sport specific solutions to athletes’ protection and prevention product needs, and having the opportunity to work with Ryan has been a great asset to the Zamst Elite team.”

Getzlaf will be leading the Anaheim Ducks during the World Cup of Hockey in Toronto this week. Fans can watch his interview via the Zamst Facebookpage. For additional information on the Zamst ‘Z Team’ go to: http://www.zamst.us/
