San Francisco, CA (Feb 16, 2017) — Peak Design, maker of essential carry equipment and camera accessories, is delighted to announce that the company’s Everyday Backpack is the winner of the prestigious 2017/2018 ISPO award in Outdoor Gear Design. The fiercely sought-after award joins a growing list of accolades for the Everyday Line of bags and comes hot on the heels of back-to-back “Gear-of-the-Year” awards from the editors at National Geographic and Popular Photography.
Each year the ISPO Awards celebrate the world’s most important innovations in sporting and outdoor equipment. Deliberated by an independent jury of over 40 outdoor experts and pro athletes, the award vindicates the countless hours that were spent designing and testing the Everyday Backpack. The ISPO Outdoor Gear Design Award also signifies Peak Design’s achievement in designing carry solutions that go beyond addressing just the needs of their core audience of camera enthusiasts. The award is a clear statement that those in the outdoor community are impressed by the Everyday Backpack’s innovative construction, unrivaled access, and use of materials, all of which can be found throughout Peak Design’s Everyday Line of bags.
Prior to receiving the ISPO award, Peak Design had already received back-to-back “Gear-of-the-year” Awards in 2015 and 2016 from both National Geographic and Popular Photography on behalf of the company’s highly praised Everyday Bag Line.
National Geographic awarded a 2016 Gear-of-the-Year Award the Peak Design Everyday Tote, lauding the bag as, “the world’s first technical tote.” National Geographic editors went to say, “the Peak Design Everyday Tote takes a product that’s all too often a cheap, flimsy giveaway and turns it into a highly adaptable bag for carrying your daily kit, whether it’s laptop and office accoutrements or serious photo gear.”
Popular Photography also awarded a 2016 Gear-of-the-Year Award to the Peak Design Everyday Backpack. The Everyday Backpack was recognized for its unique dual side-loading panel design and its double polyurethane coated shell which, as Popular Photography editors noted, “pretty much eliminates the need for a rain cover.”
