In partnership with World Vision®, Insect Shield will make their Protection blanket available to those at risk for dangerous insect-borne diseases.

Outdoor Retailer Show:

Buy a World Vision Insect Shield® Blanket for $22 and get another blanket placed in the hands of women and children at risk for malaria and other dangerous insect-borne diseases. The blankets can be purchased at Outdoor Retailer Show World Vision Booth A-110.

World Vision® is also incorporating the Insect Shield blankets into their Promise Packs for distribution to children living in extreme poverty in Malawi, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Cambodia, Philippines, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Haiti and Nicaragua. In addition to the Insect Shield Relief Blanket, the World Vision Promise Packs are filled with school supplies and basic personal hygiene items that help children stay in school and stay healthy.

“World Vision uses a variety of interventions in our work to eliminate malaria in at-risk communities in the countries where we work,” says Martha Newsome, global director for health and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) at World Vision. “We welcome the new Insect Shield relief blankets, along with insecticide-treated bed nets and in-home training as a critical component of our holistic approach in educating communities on malaria prevention.”
