Austin, TX. (September 27, 2016) —Kammok, makers of outdoor gear for the city-to-trail adventurer, is proud to reveal the Sunda™ Tent Hammock: a pioneering new outdoor shelter that is equally at home on the ground as it is in the trees. As Kammok’s first foray in ground shelters, the Sunda stays true to the company’s roots of developing innovative sleeping systems designed for any terrain, any occasion, and any adventure.

 Sunda™ as "ground" shelter

Sunda™ as "ground" shelter

Sunda’s revolutionary design merges the functional pragmatism of a traditional backpacking tent with the ease and convenience of a hammock in a single ultra-versatile adventure shelter. The Sunda provides four easy-to-transform shelter options: 1) a 2+ person tent, 2) an all-in-one hammock shelter, 3) a minimalist hammock, and 4) a Fly Light™ ultra-light shelter with a ground tarp and rain fly.

Inspired by a flying Malayan lemur species known as the “Sunda,” Kammok’s bold new tent design brings the best of two worlds together. “Since day one at Kammok, we dreamed of having a tent in our product line,” said Greg McEvilly, Founder of Kammok. “When looking at the category, we noticed the best tents in our industry have always been ground dwellers, so we took our love for hammock camping and added suspension versatility. The end result is what we believe to be a game changing new category - tent hammocks. The Sunda is a product that can compete best-in-class as both a standalone tent and a standalone hammock shelter.”

At over 8 ft long with more than 35 sq feet of living area and a 40 in. ceiling height that extends the entire length of the tent, Sunda delivers the most livable cabin of any tent in its class. Built to last, Kammok’s durable and proprietary fabrics protect against the unpredictability of weather and the harshness of any terrain. Most notably, Sunda’s proprietary Lumos™ shell fabric is not just waterproof, but reflects heat and infrared rays to provide sun protection during the day and retain warmth at night. Additional features include spacious doors and vented windows that offer unobstructed views during starry nights, and convenient corner storage pockets and gear loops that offer extra storage and ample opportunities to hang lights at night.

The Sunda™ is finally ready to take your adventures to the next level and prepare you for the unexpected. Available exclusively on Kickstarter, starting September 27, 2016. http://kck.st/2d6XSD9
