White Sierra Revamps Line, Extends Outerwear Offering For Fall 2006

For Fall 06, more than 85-percent of White Sierra's line is new. The company has revamped its line, and added more than two dozen new outerwear pieces for men and women and kids.

Sunnyvale, Calif. – For Fall 06, more than 85-percent of White Sierra's line is new. The company has revamped its line, and added more outerwear for men and women, and by popular demand: kids.

According to the Outdoor Industry Association, outerwear tops grew 17.5% in all channels in the six months from August 04-January 05. For Fall 2006, White Sierra has expanded its outerwear offering to benefit from this growth.

The company has more than two-dozen new outerwear pieces, including the feature filled, snowboard–styled, Maverick Jacket for men, and the Vapor Jacket for women. Another highlight is the four-in-one systems versatility of the men's Four Season Jacket.

Also according to OIA, sportswear is growing in both chain and specialty channels of distribution. White Sierra's comprehensive line of sportswear is fashionable and functional, and offered at an attainable price point. White Sierra has always been recognized for its unique approach to fleece, and for 2006 the company offers the lush fabric of the High Loft for men and the Kashmir Fleece for women along with hybrid performance fleece like the Pinnacle for men and the Alpha for women.

Value has always been a White Sierra hallmark, but White Sierra continues to define the attainable outerwear category by offering detail-rich, feature-laden apparel at price points that appeal to every outdoor buyer. “White Sierra's line is coming off of a strong spring collection and riding that momentum into fall,” said Gigi Vill of G.I. Joe's in Wilsonville, Oregon.

”The accessibility of the line is really important to us,” said White Sierra VP of Sales Kevin Hobday. “Accessibility refers to price and the actual apparel—White Sierra's apparel is neither too technical nor ‘outdoorsy' looking. Consumers choose White Sierra as a brand that fills their need for outdoor apparel that works for everyday use as well.”

In January during Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, White Sierra will be hosting a Chinese New Year party complete with celebration banners, beer, and prizes. The party will be at White Sierra booth # 2033 on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 4:30 pm.
