The Voice nabs Best B2B Launch award at FOLIO:

The FOLIO: Eddie and Ozzie Award ceremony took place in New York city.

At the FOLIO: conference in New York city this week, The Voice, the new independent outdoor industry trade journal published by SNEWS was awarded the Eddie Award for Best B2B Magazine Launch of the year. The highly coveted FOLIO awards honor “uncompromising journalism and gorgeous design.”

"The Eddie [for journalism] & Ozzie [for design] Awards recognize the pillars of magazine and digital publishing—outstanding journalism and content, photography, design, and the extremely talented people who produce it," said Caysey Welton, content director at Folio:, the 43-year old publishing B2B magazine.

The inaugural issue of The Voice, the best new B2B magazine in the land!

The Voice launched in January 2019 with a cover story that explored the power that REI wields within the outdoor landscape, plus features about elitism in our industry, counterfeit and copycat gear, and the results of SNEWS’ exclusive survey on sexual harassment and assault.

The Voice also won an Honorable Mention in the Best Editorial Use of Data category for “Sex, Power, and the Outdoor Industry” by data specialist Charlie Lieu.

“I’m so proud of this award,” said Kristin Hostetter, editor-in-chief. “Building this magazine from scratch was a huge and exhilarating challenge, and our whole team leaned into it with so much passion and energy. It’s so gratifying to see that work recognized by our peers in the publishing industry.”
