Change feels good. I couldn’t be more excited to share the news that we are launching a brand new outdoor and snowsports industry print and digital trade magazine.
It’s called The Voice. The mission is simple: to be the voice of the industry, and to tackle—head-on—all the challenges, opportunities, and issues that we face as a community and to reflect a diversity of voices. Everyone will be heard.
OK, maybe simple is not the right word for our mission. Because our content will be anything but.
We’ve heard you loud and clear that our industry needs to have real discussions around big topics that inform the way we’re doing business now, and the way we’ll do it in the future. We can’t afford to shy away from the uncomfortable matters, like REI’s growing impact, sexual misconduct in the outdoor industry, the escalating cost of attending trade shows, and so many more.
Gear and apparel is, of course, the foundation of what many of our jobs revolve around. So we’ve got all our best gearheads working on next-level gear trends reporting and forecasting and a highly curated crop of product picks launching this season for F19.
Plus, we’ve assembled a roster of award-winning editors, writers, designers, and photographers that are attacking this new opportunity with fervor, creativity, and excitement.
Our inaugural issue will drop on day 1 of the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Snow Show on January 30. If you’re headed to the show, be on the lookout for it. Our goal for The Voice is to advance and deepen the many conversations that happen in the aisles of the show—and start new ones. We can’t wait to show you our fresh, new, unfiltered trade journal.
