Test the newest skis. Try the latest goggles and helmets. Sing karaoke. These are just a few of the things you'll be able to do during the 2019 On-Snow Demo, hosted by Snowsports Industries America (SIA) and Western Winter Sports Representatives Association (WWSRA).
The demo days are scheduled for Feb. 4 and 5—the Monday after Outdoor Retailer Snow Show ends—and Copper Mountain Resort is the backdrop once again.
Last year, more than 1,600 buyers, 1,500 exhibitor personnel, and 100 media attended the demo. SIA and WWSRA are hoping for an even larger turnout.
"This year's demo marks a historic moment in SIA history," SIA President Nick Sargent said in a statement. "We have been co-hosting the demo at Copper with WWSRA for the past five years starting in 2014. In conjunction with 100 exhibiting brands, we are also extremely excited to promote and ride the new Eagle and Flyer lifts. I look forward to seeing everyone for two great days of skiing and demoing the leading brands in the industry."
Sargent, in a newsletter last week, emphasized the importance of the snowsports and outdoor industries coming together to identify shared goals and build bridges. His note was sent after Outdoor Industry Association sent a letter about supporting the November show, which caused confusion among some.
"Over the holidays, think about what you want for the future of this industry," Sargent wrote. "What do you see as the biggest priorities and what positive contributions can you make to the conversation? Bring these thoughts and ideas to the OR Snow Show and the On-Snow Demo at Copper Mtn. I want to hear them and we need to be talking about them as a community."
