July 26, 2013

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Park N Pedal will once again be providing bike valet and bike share service at the 2013 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, July 31st - August 3rd, 2013. Attendees can valet their bicycles in a protected bike corral with easy in and out bike access during the day. In addition, there will be a mini fleet of Dahon and Xtracycle bicycles along with helmets and locks for attendees to check out for free to use for around town trips during show hours. Park N Pedal also organizes an evening fun ride and city tour that highlights a variety of local attractions and neighborhoods in and around downtown Salt Lake City.

This is the fifth year that Park N Pedal has provided bike valet and bike share service for Outdoor Retailer Summer Market by Emerald Expositions trade show event, which draws over 45,000 exhibitors and attendees annually. The effort reduces auto traffic coming to and from the show, parking around the venue and cross-town trip traffic. On average over 100 users a day valet their bikes and over 50 people a day check out the free bikes.

“The demand for Park N Pedal solutions has never been stronger. It’s great to be asked back for another year. Having a Park N Pedal solution enhances the event experience and contributes to the city transportation efficiencies, as well as adding another level of fun. All of which means it’s good business for the event and the city,” says Devaki Murch, owner and founder of the innovative program. “The program has grown from being a convenient amenity for show goer to an integral part of the tradeshow.”

Park N Pedal is one of the early originators of the turn-key bike valet services for large scale conference and trade show events. Bikes are often the most efficient form of transportation in urban downtown metropolis areas where large events are held. The venues themselves often pride themselves in their sustainability efforts and investment in their operations to provide a green meeting environment. Park N Pedal’s easy implementation plans make it easy to add this service into the existing event structure.

“The bike share program at OR is one of the truly special elements of Outdoor Retailer that serves the entire community of attending and exhibiting businesses. It's an amazingly creative way to do good business and facilitate a better show experience for all while also modeling best practice behavior for business leaders nationwide. Now in its 5th year, I see Park n' Pedal, under Devaki's expert guidance, only poised to grow and deliver even more value to our show audience.” Kenji Haroutunian,

Park N Pedal services will be operating 8am – 4pm July 31st through August 3rd, 2013 near the corner of 200 S and West Temple on the south plaza near the main registration doors. For more details visit Outdoor Retailer  or see the OR Show Map.
