Mountain Hardwear’s Equipment Category Awarded Industry Honors at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

The Ozonic 65 OutDry Pack and Ghost UL 2 Tent win praise for innovation

Richmond, Calif. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Mountain Hardwear, creator of performance apparel and equipment that empowers outdoor athletes to live boldly, is proud to announce the industry honors awarded to the brand’s equipment at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City last week. Backpacker Magazine announced an Editor’s Choice Award for the Mountain Hardwear Ozonic™ 65 OutDry® Pack and Gear Institute named the 2016 Ghost UL 2 Tent among the show’s Best New Gear.

The Ozonic™ 65 OutDry® Pack is a completely waterproof, full-featured, lightweight, comfortable multiday backpack. Built for long days and heavy loads, the Ozonic™ 65’s fully waterproof body is ready to handle the most heinous conditions with a three-layer OutDry® membrane that keeps contents dry in any conditions and an ergonomic design for continuous comfort. Wicking air mesh shoulder straps and a vented back panel promote air circulation, while a softly rounded hip belt with an offset buckle allows for a supportive, snug fit.

Awarding the Ghost UL 2 Tent a Best New Gear Award, Gear Institute said, “Tipping the scales at just 2 pounds, 2 ounces, the Ghost UL2 two-person, three-season tent from Mountain Hardwear is the lightest freestanding shelter that the company has ever offered. Despite its svelte size however, Mountain Hardwear claims that it still offers the same level of stability and protection from the elements that you've come to expect from their products. If you're the kind of person who is always looking for ways to cut weight from your pack, this just might be the tent for you.”
