Richmond, Calif. – Mountain Hardwear, Inc., a leader in innovative, premium outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Sportswear Company (Nasdaq:COLM), launches lightweight technical outerwear for Spring 2014 for outdoor enthusiasts to make the most out of their adventures, big and small.

Quasar Hybrid Pullover

“Technical shells developed for Spring and Summer usage need to do everything a winter shell needs to do with regards to weather protection – only they have to be lighter, sleeker, more packable, more breathable, and more versatile to accommodate the vagaries of shoulder season weather,” says Robert Fry, director of product merchandising at Mountain Hardwear. “It’s a tall order, that we’ve been able to fill with an extraordinarily light, air permeable, bomb-proof collection of technical shells designed in collaboration with some of the world’s top alpinists.”

Part of the Ueli Steck Project, the Quasar Hybrid Pullover (MSRP $375) is the ultimate lightweight, waterproof-breathable and air permeable ice- and rock-climbing pullover shell for men. Superior articulation and stretch insets allow for outstanding mobility even in the most precarious positions.

One of Mountain Hardwear’s lightest and fastest climbing jackets for men and women, the Hyaction Jacket (MSRP $350) is also tough, with abrasion-resistant fabric on the upper shoulders and arms. Dry.Q™EVAP and Dry.Q™Elite technologies combine to banish moisture. High pockets are compatible with harness and pack straps.
