KEEN Inc. is proud to announce KAVU, Summit Projects, Dansko and Clif Bar as current supporters of Hyprid.Pedal.

KEEN believes in living a HybridLife, one that balances creativity, passion for the outdoors and commitment to engaging with causes that make a difference. It is at the core of what KEEN is about and the inspiration for Hybrid.Pedal, a 1,000-mile cycling fundraising initiative and accompanying documentary film designed to generate awareness of and visibility for The Conservation Alliance. The Conservation Alliance is a non-profit group of outdoor businesses dedicated to protecting wild places for their habitat and recreation values.

Hybrid.Pedal will travel from Portland, OR to Salt Lake City, UT from July 25 – August 7. 2007, and, along the route, highlight many of the endangered wildlands The Conservation Alliance has helped protect. But it doesn't end there. All 1,000-miles will be filmed, with a premier screening at OR show and then entered into regional outdoor film festivals to build awareness for North America's threatened wild places.

Donations are accepted, and all funds raised for The Conservation Alliance will be evenly distributed to the featured grantees along the route:

•Oregon Wild - Mount Hood Wilderness
•Deschutes Basin Land Trust - Skyline Forest
•Oregon Natural Desert Association - Badlands Wilderness and Steens Mountain Wilderness
•Idaho Rivers United - Payette River
•Idaho Conservation League - Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness
•Winter Wildlands Alliance - Wasatch-Cache National Forest
•Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance – Cedar Mountains

The Conservation Alliance is a non-profit organization of outdoor businesses whose collective annual membership dues support grassroots citizen-action groups and their efforts to protect wild and natural areas. Since outdoor businesses thrive on the outdoors, everyone in the industry should be a member of this amazing and passionate organization.

Says Erika Bruhn, Marketing Manager for KEEN, Inc., “The Hybrid.Pedal initiative is inspired by the beautiful wild lands the Conservation Alliance has worked so hard to protect. For KEEN, the KEEN Foundation and the outdoor industry as a community, Hybrid.Pedal presents an incredible opportunity to do something different, to rethink sustainability and re-imagine the possibilities.”

The deadline to support Hyprid.Pedal is March 30, 2007. Support levels are tiered as follows:

•Yellow: $15,000
•Polka Dot $7,500
•Green $5,000
•Product

Hyprid.Pedal provides great product visibility, prominent logo display along the bike route, at media events and in the accompanying documentary film. For more information on how to get involved, ride, or support Hybrid.Pedal, visit http://www.keenfootwear.com/hybridpedal.cfm.
