Helly Hansen Teams up with the iconic Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival

The Norwegian brand will present the Award for Best Film on Mountain Culture and support adventure filmmakers from around the globe

OSLO, Norway (November 4, 2014) — Helly Hansen is sponsoring the 38th annual Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival’s Adventure Filmmakers’ Workshop and the Award for Best Film on Mountain Culture.

“It’s in our Scandinavian roots to support the best film on Mountain Culture this year at the Banff Festival,” said Damien Etchaubard, marketing manager for Helly Hansen Canada. “Helly Hansen’s products and designs stem from strong mountain and ocean cultures. Our company was born where the mountains meet the sea.”

Helly Hansen is also proud to support Independent and emerging filmmakers who will transform their film projects from ideas into reality during the eight-day workshop. Participants include elite athletes, expeditionists, and amateur filmmakers.

On Friday, November 7, Helly Hansen will present three back-to-back free screenings of Helly Hansen ambassadors JF Plouffe and Matt Elliott’s short film Boards N Fjords. The film documents the duo’s sail-to-ski adventure in British Columbia’s fjords and the surrounding glaciated peaks. The first free screening begins at 6:30 p.m.
