Vancouver, British Columbia (July 1, 2010) – G3, manufacturer of industry-leading gear for backcountry skiing, this week hired Verde PR & Consulting as its public relations agency of record (AOR).

Verde will be charged with leading G3's trade and consumer communications strategy, including supporting G3's brand marketing and sales initiatives, integrating G3's extensive social network and content, as well as promoting G3's return to both the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (ORWM) and Snowsports Industry Association (SIA) trade shows.

Verde will also be charged with elevating the profile and participation of G3's successful Skigraphiks contest, assisting in rep and dealer communications and coordination of G3's global brand message management.

“It's important for us at G3 to work with leaders in their respective fields, but we also look for true partners who know our space and share our passion for the mountains,” said Oliver Steffen, President and founder of G3. “Verde PR not only knows the landscape of public relations and social media, they also know firsthand the world of backcountry skiing. We're excited to bring them on board as a new resource to help us drive consumer awareness and sell-through for our retailers.”

For the 2010/2011 season, G3 is re-focusing its efforts to build buzz and drive sales of its six new models of backcountry, sidecountry and freeride skis as well as its redesigned Onyx and new women's Ruby alpine-touring bindings. The Onyx and Ruby are tech-style AT bindings with high performance retention, dramatically reduced pre-release, and industry-leading releasability functions, while also offering the ability to switch from ski to tour mode without taking skis off.

Founded in 1995, G3 builds gear to the durability and performance standards of backcountry guides, which is where it also derives its name: Genuine Guide Gear. From its headquarters in Vancouver, B.C., a short distance from the testing grounds of the Coast Range, G3 designs and manufactures backcountry skis, alpine-touring and telemark ski bindings, climbing skins, avalanche shovels and probes, and other ski-touring accessories.
