(Boulder, CO)— In Spring-Summer 2014, Swedish outdoor brand Fjällräven will add to its collections of outerwear, apparel and accessories for men and women. This season, the brand focuses on functionality, offering designs that are durable, versatile and can transition through the warmer months. With lightweight jackets, quick drying materials and breathable separates, the new collection will offer an array of items fit for technical outdoor use and everyday active wear. Fjällräven’s Spring–Summer 2014 collection will be available beginning in February 2014 at the brand’s New York City flagship location, specialty retailers nationwide and at www.fjallraven.us.
PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS – MEN
Abisko Hybrid Jacket, $180.00: The Abisko Hybrid Jacket, an optimal outerwear choice for active outdoor lifestyles, debuts a new fabrication, Microtravel (MT). MT is a board short-like material that promotes breathability and wicks moisture. Fjällräven blends MT with its signature G-1000® Lite fabric to create a lightweight layer that can be waxed to increase water and wind resistance. An adjustable cord in the waist and a fixed adjustable hood add protection and mobility. The Abisko Hybrid Jacket is also equipped with two large pockets, a mesh ventilation yoke, underarm eyelets and elastic bindings at arm ends. Leather accents add a touch of premium detail.
Wild MT Jacket, $240.00: Ideal for transitioning between different weather conditions, the hip-length Wild MT Jacket can convert to a vest with zip-off sleeves that can be stored in the back pocket of the jacket. A MT fabrication provides a lightweight and quick drying design. For further protection from inclement weather, the jacket has a zipper placket with an added press button closure. Multiple exterior and interior pockets shelter essentials. The Wild MT Jacket is offered in a trio of neutral tones.
Abisko Cool Shirt, $100.00: The Abisko Cool Shirt is suited for warm weather with adjustable sleeves that can roll up as temperatures rise. Constructed from a Lyocell fabrication, the fabric’s natural properties lend to a lightweight design, wick moisture and promote breathability. Chest pockets with button closure in the front of the shirt allow for easy access to personal items. An added G-1000® lining underneath the shirt’s collar provides increased durability.
Kiruna Pocket Sweater, $100.00 & Övik Sweater, $90.00: This season, Fjällräven will introduce several light knit sweaters and shirts ideal for layering. The Kiruna Pocket Sweater features an organic cotton jersey fabrication for optimum breathability in warmer temperatures. The shoulders of the shirt are reinforced with G-1000® patches to provide protection and durability where pack straps rest. A front chest pocket with a bellow at the bottom allows quick access to necessities. The Övik Sweater is another light organic cotton option new for the Spring season. Featuring traditional pullover sweatshirt styling and flatlock seams, the Övik Sweater is an easy layering option for unpredictable Spring weather. Both sweaters feature premium leather logo accents.
Övik Trousers, $100.00 & Kiruna Trousers, $90.00: Fjällräven will also add a range of hybrid outdoor and casual use pants and shorts to its bottom offering. The Övik Trousers, constructed from a durable G-1000® Silent fabrication, feature a tailored regular fit, a low rise and a soft, brushed finish. A large leg pocket, a multi-tool pocket, two back pockets and hand pockets allow space for essentials. The Övik Trousers have a raw-length leg, allowing the pants to be fit to the individual wearer. Fit for hiking, biking and casual wear, the Kiruna Trousers are a hard-wearing pant that features a G-1000® Original fabrication. The Kiruna Trousers have classic khaki pant design elements, including: a regular fit, a mid-rise waist and a slightly tapered cut at the bottom of the leg. Slanted side pockets provide a casual look, while back pockets with bellows allow place to store personal items during outdoor use. Both pants can be waxed (and re-waxed) to adapt wind and water resistance depending on activity.
Abisko Shorts, $90.00 & Karl MT Shorts, $80.00: A technical short designed for active outdoor lifestyle, the Abisko Shorts feature a G-1000® Original fabrication with added stretch to provide freedom of movement during outdoor use. The shorts have a regular fit with a mid-rise waist with an extra high back-rise for comfort. Several pockets, including one large leg pocket, a small interior mesh pocket and a pocket fit for a cell phone or GPS, ensure easy access to necessities. The Karl MT Shorts debut with a new MT construction. The lightweight and quick drying shorts feature a regular fit and low-rise waist. Equipped with eight pockets, the Karl MT Shorts provide secure storage for personal items.

Sarek Trekking Jacket, $300.00: The Sarek Trekking Jacket is a technical outdoor jacket with a traditional, yet stylish, long cut silhouette. Constructed from Fjällräven’s signature G-1000® Original fabric, the jacket can be waxed to increase water and wind resistant properties. A technical tunnel hood with three way adjustments, combined with adjustable sleeves, waist and bottom hem provide a comfortable fit and help seal out the elements. Two large chest pockets placed near the zipper allow for easy entry while wearing a pack, while two top entry front pockets allow wearer to still use a hip belt. Leather zipper pulls and logo detailing provide premium accents. The timeless design is offered in four colors, ranging from a vibrant red to classic sand.
Stina Jacket, $180.00: Suited for everyday outdoor use, the Stina Jacket provides functionality and classic, streamlined style. The casual jacket features a fixed hood silhouette. A blend of G-1000® Original and G-1000®Lite fabrications lend to a durable, yet lightweight design. Pre-shaped arms provide a flattering fit and two hand pockets with zipper closures offer quick access to personal items.
Greenland Shirt Jacket, $110.00: Borrowing the silhouette of the iconic Greenland Jacket, a Fjällräven classic since 1968, the Greenland Shirt Jacket boasts a hybrid shirt and jacket design. The versatile piece features a soft G-1000® Silent construction and a press button closure, making the design ideal for layering. The densely woven fabric also offers protection from the sun with a UPF 40+ rating. Two top-loading pockets with side opening hand warming pockets provide dual functionality.
Övik Sweater, $90.00, Abisko Longsleeve, $60.00 & Abisko Tank Top, $40.00: In Spring 2014, Fjällräven will also introduce a range of light layering tops for women. The Övik Sweater features a fine knit cotton construction. Rolled edges at the sleeves, neck and bottom hem provide subtle style. The top will be offered in classic white, blue and khaki colors, as well as in new seasonal hues, Deep Red and a fuchsia-inspired tone, Wild Ginger. The Abisko Longsleeve and the Abisko Tank Top both feature a blend of wool and Tencel®, a natural fiber made from the pulp of sustainably grown eucalyptus trees. Natural properties of both fabrications provide garments with the ability to wick sweat, manage odor and dry quickly. The long-sleeve t-shirt and the tank top silhouettes both feature flatlock seams and will be offered in four colors: new seasonal colors, Ox Red and Sky Blue, a classic wedgewood, Uncle Blue and a staple Black.
Nikka Shorts, $90.00: The female counterpart to the Abisko Shorts, the Nikka Shorts are a technical short designed for outdoor lifestyle. The shorts blend stretch and a G-1000® Original fabrication for mobility and freedom of movement during outdoor use. An added G-1000® reinforcement at the seat of the shorts offers increased durability, while a regular fit with a mid-rise waist with an extra high back-rise lends to comfort. The Nikka Shorts are equipped with five pockets for storage of essentials.

Kånken No.2, $125.00 & Kånken, $75.00: In Spring 2014, Fjällräven updates its iconic Kånken backpack with its signature G-1000® HeavyDuty fabric to debut the Kånken No.2. The material update provides a new level of durability to the classic silhouette. Convertible straps allow the KånkenNo.2 to be carried as a tote bag or worn over the shoulders like a backpack or rucksack. The G-1000® version of the bag will feature an added G-1000® Lite lining and sophisticated leather accents. The bag also maintains traditional design elements, including a large zippered front compartment, an integrated seat pad and Fjällräven’s arctic fox logo. The Kånken No.2 will be offered in seven colors. This season, the brand will also update its core Kånken offering with five new seasonal hues: a rich-hued red, Deep Red; a pastel shade of blue, Sky Blue; a misty light grey, Fog and a rich Loden shade, Salvia Green. Fjällräven will also launch an updated version of the Kånken Kids with an adjustable chest strap solution for a secure fit.
Numbers Series Bags, $60.00-$250.00: Fjällräven rounds out its premium Number Series Bag offering with a range of new daypack silhouettes and accessories. The Number Series, a capsule collection that pays homage to celebrated styles from Fjällräven’s history, is primarily made in Europe. Constructed from G-1000® HeavyDuty fabric, the Gear Duffel joins the collection as a large storage option suited for outdoor gear or as weekend travel bag. The durable design features two large exterior pockets, an interior safety pocket and double layer webbing handles. A combination of metal and leather trims provides stylish detail. The brand also updates its popular Foldsack No.1 silhouette, inspired by the envelope pockets of its classic jackets, to introduce the Foldsack No.3. The Foldsack No.3 features a durable G-1000® HeavyDuty fabrication and a slimmer, shoulder bag design. An adjustable shoulder strap provides a comfortable fit, a zippered front pocket provides quick access to personal items and a top closure with metal buckle secures contents inside the bag. Additionally, Fjällräven will add a collection of smaller G-1000® accessories, including small gear bags and pockets, laptop and tablet cases and a collection of wallets.
Funäs Lite, $100.00: Featuring a slim, lightweight and compressible construction, the Funäs Lite is an ideal sleeping bag option for warmer temperatures. The sleeping bag has an open hood design, horizontal channels, a trapezoidal Foot Box and a Supreme Microloft Insulation SB filling. Full-length, two-way dual zippers provide easy ventilation. Additional features include: a draft tube with zipper guard, an internal accessory pocket, hang loops at foot end and a corresponding stuff sack. The Funäs Lite is offered in regular and long lengths.
