(Boulder, CO) February 25, 2016 — Swedish heritage outdoor brand Fjällräven announces the appointment of Nathan Dopp as president and general manager in North America. Effective immediately, Dopp will assume responsibility for the domestic operations of Fjällräven and Hanwag under the brands’ parent company Fenix Outdoor. He will report directly to Fenix Outdoor CEO Martin Nordin.

Dopp succeeds John Walbrecht, whom he worked alongside as Fjällräven’s vice president of sales and marketing since 2012. Moving forward, Dopp will focus on strengthening the brand’s infrastructure in North America and optimize operations in an effort to better serve retail and consumer communities. This will include additional executive appointments and key hires in the weeks and months to follow.

“I am excited for this opportunity. We have a great team here and I believe that we can build upon our success to grow our retail footprint, distribution, and customer service and further establish Fjällräven as the most sustainable premium outdoor brand in North America,” said Dopp.

Dopp has more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, management and business development in the outdoor industry. Prior to joining Fjällräven, he served as the vice president of sales for Obermeyer, Spyder and Sunice.

“Nathan has been vital in our market growth strategy and he consistently ensures that our brand position is authentic to our heritage,” commented Martin Nordin, CEO of Fenix Outdoor. “We are confident in his ability to lead the continued expansion of Fjällräven. I want to thank John for his contributions to Fjällräven and Hanwag and for solidifying our brand presence in North America.”
