Xcel was established in 1982 and has since pushed its way to the forefront of the worldwide wetsuit and dive suit marketplace. With the integration of Celliant smart fibers (Thermo Dry Celliant -TDC) in their lining, they have introduced their warmest wetsuit to date. On average, donning a TDC wetsuit results in a 5°C/9°F increase in body temperature in 15 minutes. With these results Xcel was nominated for two Surf Industry Manufacturer's Association Image Awards: The Drylock wetsuit with Thermo Dry Celliant was nominated for Wetsuit of the Year, and the Drylock boot with TDC was nominated for Best Hardgoods Accessory Product.

ISPO Top 10 Textrends

We are also proud to announce that Imbotex “Celliant Heat” insulation has been voted as one of the Top 10 Textrends for the ISPO Show, selected by an independent jury of textile experts as one of the top innovations for Fall/Winter 16/17. The top 10 winners (including Imbotex Celliant Heat) will be exhibited in the Textrends Forum in hall C2 in Munich, February 3-5th. The Celliant and Imbotex booth can be found in the same hall, Hall C2 Booth # 233. With more than fifty years of history and experience, Imbotex leads the development of technologically advanced natural and synthetic fibers for the production of insulation for clothing and bedding as well as upholstery and padding for home and office furnishings.

The progressive developments in 2014 have led to innovations in the marketplace for 2015/16 in down, wool, polyester and apparel listed below.

Dri-Energy, the Marriage of Water-Loving and Water-Hating Fibers

Dri-release® patented technology is being married with Celliant yarns to become Dry Energy technology. Celliant fiber, when blended with a precise amount of water-loving fibers such as Cotton, Bamboo, Tencel, or Wool, creates a superior moisture management yarn. As the body sweats, the water-loving fibers pull moisture away from the body and the water-hating fiber quickly kicks it out to evaporate faster. The combination of Celliant, with its ability to break apart water molecules and energy enhancing properties, and drirelease, pulling moisture to the surface, creates a superior moisture management and performance system.

PROJECT clothing

PROJECT clothing produces technical performance apparel for a wide range of sports and athletes. The President and CEO, Graeme Clarke, with years of producing technical performance wear for triathletes and runners has developed PROJECT clothing to bring active innovations in apparel to winter sports and the outdoor industry.

PROJECT is poised to debut its new line of three technical ski and snowboard jackets with pants including the Arctic, the Downhill and the Powder, all of which utilize Celliant technology. The Arctic Jacket in particular features, ThermaDown™, which has the added benefit of being treated with an infrared technology from Celliant. This technology converts body heat produced into IR energy and sends it back to the body, meaning increased blood circulation and lower energy expenditure to maintain body temperature. The Celliant IR treatment also keeps the down from getting wet further ensuring the warm properties of the down.

Please visit us at the CELLIANTBooth, #38182, at the Outdoor Retailer Show, January 21st-24th in Salt Lake City.At the winter show these new developments will be unveiled, as well as a partner program in technical outerwear with applied Celliant technology.
