G3 Athlete Team includes top mountaineers,
guides, freeskiers and photographers.
Vancouver, B.C. (Nov. 10, 2015) – Lynsey Dyer, one of the most accomplished and recognizable women in big-mountain skiing, will join the athlete roster for G3, manufacturer of innovative backcountry ski and snowboard equipment, effective this fall season. Dyer joins a G3 roster full of accomplished AMGA and ACMG guides, ski mountaineers and professional freeskiers.
As big-mountain skiing continues to blur the lines between backcountry and resort, Dyer’s addition to the G3 team reflects the current trend of strong skiers applying their skills to settings beyond the resort boundary – and needing to choose the right tools to do it.
Based out of Jackson, Wyo., Dyer was named 2014 Skier of the Year by Freeskier Magazine. She has been featured a wide range of ski films, from Teton Gravity Research to Warren Miller, and she’s hosted television shows on NBC and ESPN.
Beyond being an accomplished athlete, Dyer is also an advocate. Through her film production company, Unicorn Picnic, she spearheaded the release of the award-winning, all-women’s ski film, Pretty Faces, in Fall 2014. She also co-founded SheJumps, a non-profit organization dedicated toward increasing women’s participation in the outdoors.
“G3 has been making a strong statement with tools for backcountry skiing for the last 20 years, and the release of the ION binding this past year is the latest in a line a products that showcase the kind of dedication it devotes to that goal,” Dyer said. “The more time I spend in the backcountry, the more I realize how important it is to have elegantly designed, truly functional gear that allows you to rip both up and down the mountain. G3’s experience gives it the edge to design products that do just that.”
This season, Dyer will be pushing into the backcountry on G3’s ION touring binding, Alpinist Elle High Traction Skins, Via Carbon poles, and of course the essential G3 avalanche safety gear.
Dyer joins a G3 athlete roster packed with talent and years of backcountry experience. G3 veteran skiers Chad Sayers, James McSkimming, Andy and Mike Traslin, Melanie Bernier, and John Wells all return to the line up. Guides Lars Andrews, Jasmin Caton, Evan Stevens, Ross Berg, Marc Piche, Joe Stock and Amos Whiting will be using G3 gear while guiding clients around some of the wildest areas on earth. Photographers Reuben Krabbe and Zoya Lynch are also on the roster. Joey Vosburgh, Sean Busby, Jesse Wilfley, Pat Mulrooney, Claudia Avon and Adraon Buck will represent G3 splitboarding in the backcountry.
