Boulder, Colo.- January 12, 2016 – To celebrate the 2016 National Park Service centennial, The Backpacker National Park Centennial Tour team, Aidan Lynn-Klimenko and Madison Perrins, will lead landscape photography clinics at Grassroots Outdoor Alliance member stores throughout the country. Lynn-Klimenko and Perrins have toured 25 parks since summer 2015, collecting beautiful imagery and creating content that shows visitors how to preserve national parks for future generations. During the tour stops, Lynn-Klimenko and Perrins will display their breathtaking photos and advise attendees on how to capture their own nature photography at national parks. The presentations will take place from January to March throughout the Southern United States.

Attendees will be treated to a screening of Subaru of America’s short ‘Who we are is what we leave behind’ sustainability film, which highlights Subaru’s efforts to reduce landfill waste in the country’s national parks, and can also participate in a photography challenge. Outdoor enthusiasts and photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to submit their photos of national parks using the Backpacker NPS100 Photo Contest page.

National park lovers can attend a photography clinic at the following locations:

January 16 - Summit Hut, Tucson, Ariz.
February 5 - Mountain High, Birmingham, Ala.
February 27 - Bill Jackson’s Outdoors, Pinellas Park, Fla.
February 29 - Diamond Brand Outdoors, Asheville, N.C.
March 5 - River Sports Outfitters, Knoxville, Tenn.
March 12 - Great Outdoors Provision Company, Charlottesville, Va.

“Backpacker is thrilled to collaborate with Subaru of America in celebrating the National Parks Service’s 100th anniversary in such a unique way,” said Caitlyn Pepper, American Interest Media’s event marketing manager. “We expect these will be fantastic events and we encourage the outdoor community to join us.”
