- The Eastern Outdoor Reps Association (EORA) elected Michael Schmidt as its new association president, replacing Norman Pitt, who served the past two years. Schmidt is a principal rep with Velocity Sales & Marketing, an independent sales agency based out of Stowe, Vt. with offices in Maine and Connecticut. Velocity’s clientele list includes companies such as Marmot, K2, Bushnell, Scarpa, Katadyn and Nikwax. Schmidt currently sits on several boards and is a member of the Outdoor Retailer Rep Advisory Committee. Other EORA board members named include: Bill Pelkey and Natalie Darmohraj from New England, Andy Molter, Kevin Brew and John Phaneuf from the Mid-Atlantic region and Norman Pitt, Chris Hayes and Phil Flamand from the southeast region.
- Jones Snowboards announced additions to its global marketing and sales teams in the United States and Switzerland. It appointed Xavier Nidecker to the role of global brand manager where he will work closely with Jeremy Jones on product development, creative and global marketing initiatives. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Nidecker will continue to work with his family-name brand Nidecker consulting Yes, Now, Slash and Laird StandUp, while taking on the new position with Jones. The company also added Seth Lightcap as global marketing and team manager. Lightcap will be based alongside Jeremy Jones in Truckee, Calif. and has been a Jones media and product consultant since the company's launch as the editor of the website and product catalog. Jones also expanded its sales rep team adding Mike Tallone to cover Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. And Mike Erwin was hired to cover the Jones Rocky Mountain sales territories of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas and Kansas.
- Redington, in Bainbridge Island, Wash., hired Ben Crook as sales manager. Crook held previous sales roles with salt water fishing boats and Brunton Outdoor Group. As Redington sales manager, Crook is responsible for driving the Redington sales effort creating and implementing a national sales program that align with the goals of the product, marketing and customer service teams.
