Temperature ratings are the first and most visible cue to customers shopping for sleeping bags. But just because a bag is rated 20 degrees doesn’t mean it will keep them warm at 20 degrees, or even 40 degrees.

Never allow customers to purchase a sleeping bag if their decision is based solely on ratings. Still, sleeping bag temperature ratings provide a reference and starting point for the conversation.
