On Wednesday, Sea to Summit issued a voluntary recall of certain ranges of Alpha and Sigma camp pots. The pots’ handles lock in place via a black nylon latch which, when not engaged properly, may cause the pot to “become unstable and pose a burn or scald hazard,” according to Sea to Summit’s website.
Only pots with black nylon latches without a screw are affected by the recall; pots with metal latches or black nylon latches with a screw may be used as normal. The pots, which Sea to Summit identifies as “the second generation of the Alpha and Sigma pot range,” were sold individually and as part of gear sets from January 2019 to November 2020.
Sea to Summit advises customers with affected pots to stop using the pots immediately and request a replacement latch. Customers should retain the pots themselves; once the latch is replaced, the pots may be used as normal.
Affected customers can visit Sea to Summit’s product safety page to assist in identifying recalled pots and request a replacement latch. More information can be found on the product safety page or by emailing Sea to Summit at firstname.lastname@example.org.
