Pagosa Springs, CO (March 1, 2017) — VOORMI®, an innovator of domestically sourced Precision Blended Wool™ fabrics and apparel, is thrilled to announce that the company’s River Run Hoodie, which features VOORMI’s proprietary DUAL SURFACE™ UL Precision Blended Wool Technology, took top honors in this year’s Editors' Choice Awards from Backpacker Magazine. Winning over the hearts of Backpacker’s discerning editorial team, VOORMI’s River Run Hoodie delivered a best-in-class mix of ultra-lightweight fabric, performance moisture management, and durability during the team’s testing trip in Columbia.

Well known for the company’s innovations in precision blended wool for mountain professionals and outdoor pursuits, VOORMI’s new DUAL SURFACE™ UL Precision Blended Wool Technology delivers a significantly lighter weight merino-based fabric without sacrificing durability or performance. VOORMI’s DUAL SURFACE™ UL Technology locates a razor-thin layer of moisture wicking polyester next-to-skin while maintaining merino wool dominance throughout the remainder of the fabric. Combined with new super light construction, DUAL SURFACE™ UL promises to deliver an unprecedented level of warm-weather comfort and all-season performance.

DUAL SURFACE™ UL fabric weighs just under 100g / sq. meter, making it 30-50 grams lighter than the leading ultra light merino fabrics currently on the market. VOORMI’s Chief Marketing Officer Timm Smith commented, “Our goal has always been to expand the performance possibilities of merino wool. We’re beyond thrilled with the results from our new DUAL SURFACE™ UL Technology and we are greatly honored by Backpacker’s editorial team.”

The 2017 Backpacker magazine Editors’ Choice Award is given annually to products in recognition of their outstanding innovation in design, materials, and performance. For years Backpacker Editors’ Choice Awards have come to be regarded as the most sought-after award for outdoor equipment and apparel found in the industry. All winners must excel under extensive field-testing conducted by Backpacker’s team of editors, who take hundreds of products into the backcountry to put them to the test.
