Flylow (www.flylowgear.com), the independent, homegrown and mountain-raised creators of outerwear and apparel, was honored with this month with a Backcountry Magazine Editor’s Choice award for their new Compound Pant.

PastedGraphic-19.tiffA new entry to Flylow’s Z Line -- the brand’s highest performance collection– the Compound Pant pairs 15 years of Flylow’s alpine-driven design expertise with the all-new direct venting technology of eVent® DVexpedition.

“The super technical, super tough Compound Pant stays true to the Flylow tradition of merging the best technical ingredients from high-elevation mountaineering with a frame capable of handling the extreme challenges of big mountain skiing,” said Dan Abrams, co-founder of Flylow.

Designed for skiers and adventurers who continually push the limits of the most extreme weather conditions, the Compound Pant’s eVent® DVexpedition construction provides a dynamic air permeable and waterproof foundation which allows heat and sweat that builds up during backcountry ascents to instantly vent and regulate the wearer’s body temperature.

DVexpedition is also eVent's most durable air permeable and waterproof membrane -- protecting wearers with category’s highest water column rating, heaviest weight face fabric and a special, proprietary seam tape.

“I’ve worn hundreds of ski pants in the last decade – testing and re-testing and honing in on what truly makes a great piece of gear – and the Compound Pant with eVent truly stands apart. This is a pant made for the way I like to ski,” added Abrams.

Key details of the Compound Pant include hip-to-heel side zips, cross flow vents for maximum ventilation during ascents, Cordura-reinforced cuffs for essential protection from inside edges, powder skirt snap attachments, exceptional packability, and four pockets because two is never enough.

The Backcountry Magazine Editor’s Choice awards will be featured in the 2018 Backcountry Gear Guide, with winners standing out from the “best of the best” skis, splitboards, boots, bindings and softgoods tested by the magazine staff.
