RockyMounts Relocates to Larger Facility

Company remains in Boulder with expanded warehouse and redesigned retail store;

Grand opening event on May 5 will raise money for Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance and Colorado Mountain Bike Association

BOULDER, Colo. - May 3, 2016 - RockyMounts, the company that's stoked to carry your prized possessions, today announced that it has relocated its offices, warehouse, and retail store. The new location, a mile away from its former headquarters in Boulder, has 65 percent more square footage than its previous home.

"Our move was driven by the need for more space," said Bruno Maier, president. "After two years of solid fiscal growth and product line expansion, we'd completely outgrown our former location."

Maier came to the helm at RockyMounts in December 2013, allowing founder and lead product designer Bobby Noyes to focus on innovation and new product categories. By the end of 2014, RockyMounts' sales increased by 20 percent; by the end of 2015, they were up another 29 percent. Thanks to the addition of new retail partners and the launch of five new products (and counting) in 2016, revenue is on track to increase by 40 percent this year.

Maier continued, "It was our priority to stay in downtown Boulder, connected to the cycling community we love, and we're excited that we found this space. It's convenient for our employees, it's great for traffic, and we can do a better job of meeting our customers' needs."

RockyMounts' new 9,000-square foot home on 29th Street in downtown Boulder is next door to the brick-and-mortar outlet of The Pro's Closet, a well-known eBay store that buys and resells bikes and cycling gear. Maier said the company signed a five-year lease and invested in extensive interior renovations in the space, which houses its corporate headquarters, research and development, warehouse, and - unique among most industry manufacturers - a 2,500 square foot retail store.

"From our earliest days in 1993 when Bobby started selling bike racks that he made by hand, we've had a direct line to consumers through our retail operation," explained Maier. "It helps us stay in touch with end users and refine our lineup of bike, ski, and cargo racks."

"The new retail space provides an amazing shopping experience," he added. "Bobby designed and built it, utilizing local materials like Colorado beetle-kill wood and displaying cool cycling memorabilia. It does a great job of displaying our product and providing a high-end consumer experience."

Boulderites get a first peek at the store on the evening of Thursday, May 5, 5-10 p.m., when RockyMounts will host one of its popular Guest Bartender events, in conjunction with its grand opening. Two organizations will benefit from event proceeds: The Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance and the Colorado Mountain Bike Association.

Following the format of past Guest Bartenders, admission is $5 for attendees who arrive by bicycle and $10 for those who drive. Nick Martin of the Pro's Closet, Lester Binegar of University Bicycles, and pro snowboarder and Yeti rider Justin Reiter will provide bartending services. Complete details are on RockyMounts' Facebook page.

Effective today, RockyMounts' new address is 2845 29th St, Unit B, Boulder, CO, 80301. Its phone number, (303) 402-0190, is unchanged.
