Offering the best of DriDown™ and synthetic ThermaPro™ insulations, ThermaDri™ to debut in the new for 2015 Dualist sleeping bag line

BOULDER, COLO. (For Immediate Release) – Kelty is combining the moisture management, light weight, and compressibility of DriDown™ hydrophobic down with the affordability and heat retention of ThermaPro™ synthetic insulation to create ThermaDri™, a better performing alternative to synthetic insulations alone.

ThermaDri™ utilizes a layered construction with a highly breathable, lightweight fabric separating the down and synthetic layers. This enables both insulations to excel on their own, but still work together as a system that performs better than synthetics alone. ThermaDri™ wraps around the full body of the bag, offering a 360-degree solution that allows the down to loft to its fullest regardless of how you sleep.

“When we set out to create ThermaDri™ and the Dualist sleeping bag line, we really wanted to offer a performance to full synthetic sleeping bags while keeping the price well below that of a fully down bag,” said Eric Greene, VP and General Manager for Kelty. “The result is a thoughtful insulation solution that not only keeps the price down, but truly enhances the overall performance of the bag so campers and backpackers can stay comfortable, carry less weight, and have a few dollars left over for other camp essentials.”

Thanks to ThermaDri™, the Dualist sleeping bags stay dry 17-times longer, are 20% lighter, and 40% more compressible than straight synthetic sleeping bags, giving backpackers less to carry and more room in their packs. ThermaDri™ is also 40% less dense than full synthetic bags to offer a better balance of heat retention and breathability.

These mummy-style sleeping bags all feature 50D polyester Taffeta shells and liners for lightweight durability, full-length locking zippers for easy venting, and ergonomic hoods and foot boxes for superior comfort. The Dualist bags will be available in three temperature ratings, including the Dualist 6 (4lbs; $199), the Dualist 22 men’s (2lbs, 15oz; $149), Dualist 32 women’s (2lbs, 13oz; $149), and the Dualist 34 (2lbs, 2oz; $109).

ThermaDri™ and the Dualist sleeping bags will debut at the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show in Salt Lake City, August 6-9, 2014 in booth number 25026. For an appointment to see the line, please contact Scott Kaier at
