Channel Light Core and K2 OoolaLuv 85Ti highlight new All-Mountain skis for women

Seattle, Wash. (January 28, 2015) – K2 Skis with the K2 Ski Alliance, the most progressive women’s program in skiing, endorses the new Channel Light Core, an advanced women’s-specific technology found at the heart of the all-new K2 Luv All-Mountain ski series.

“Bringing back the K2 Luv line represents far more than just new skis,” said Tim Petrick, K2 president and CEO. “It symbolizes the hard work and enthusiasm women have put into this industry over the last 15 years. Our K2 Alliance is celebrating how far women in the sport have come and where they are going by introducing a brand new collection of skis with fresh graphics and an innovative new technology.”

Built with K2’s E3 (Energy Efficient Engineering) design philosophy, the new Channel Light Core maximizes the fun and lively nature of K2’s Bioflex construction, a perfect blend of aspen and paulownia wood. The overall core profile, which is thinner than before, features grooved channels that run lengthwise through the middle section of the ski for the most desirable flex pattern and reduced swing weight and an untouched perimeter that provides stability where it is needed most. The entire construction process retains K2’s classic personality and performance, but does so in a more efficient way.

The new K2 OoolaLuv 85Ti, the widest of the All-Mountain Luv series, features the material-optimizing Channel Light Core Technology and a powerful metal laminate. The metal laminate, which is also grooved, pairs perfectly with the lightweight grooved Bioflex center to create a solid, yet playful, All-Mountain ski that makes skiing firm snow, crud and even soft powder more fun than ever.
