High Sierra Debuts Karadon Backpacks and Tech 2 Hydration Packs for Spring 2016

July 30, 2015 (Vernon Hills, Il) – Fulfilling their promise to provide quality at a value, High Sierra is introducing a brand new technical backpacking series, Karadon, for Spring 2016. Available in sizes from 5L to 65L, the Karadon is an all-encompassing and durable line that has a pack specially made for just about any type of adventure. Additional products new for Spring 2016 include the Tech 2 Hydration series, the retro Tokopah backpacks, and a variety of new travel bags.

“High Sierra’s reputation in the outdoor market is built upon our impressive collections of bags and luggage,” says Dawn Sicco, General Manager of High Sierra. “We’re now ready to really push the envelope again with the Karadon series and give our customers all of the technical features they desire at a fraction of the cost of competitor’s bags. It’s a versatile and rugged line that we know can stand up to the many adventures our customers will take it on.”

The new Karadon utilizes a number of smart features including removable shoulder, lumbar and waist straps. Easily washable, these new straps make maintenance simple and keep the pack fresh for years of adventures. The larger Karadon models (20L and up) also feature dual side-access main compartment zippers and the backpacking specific models (45L, 55L, and 65L) have removable lids as well. The Karadon series starts at a price of $59.99 for the 5L model and continues up to $219.99 for the 65L.

The Tech 2 Hydration packs have been redesigned from the ground up for the Spring 2016. All models feature the new High Sierra 2L/70oz hydration system that features a quick-disconnect hose system, a wide opening that allows for easy filling and cleaning and a hands-free bite valve. The two largest models utilize High Sierra’s AirFlow Suspended Back Panel for ventilated performance and all-day comfort. Models include the Darter (10L, $49.99), Bream (14L, $59.99), Vimba ($69.99) and the Lenok (22L, $79.99).

The Tokopah series, with packs from 1.5L all the way to 90L, is another adaptable and multipurpose series from High Sierra. With 3 lumbar packs geared specifically toward runners, 4 dedicated hydration packs, and a full complement of backpacking packs, the Tokopah series has a pack ready for any occasion. The retro styling is sure to make it a popular choice, as will the price, which ranges from $34.99 for the 1.5L Hydration and 3L Lumbar to $149.99 for the 90L.

In the travel category, the AT8 Travel Collection has duffels, carry-ons, and wheeled offerings that are designed to make travel simple. The Duffel Backpacks, which sport two side-loading gear compartments and daisy chain attachment points, come in 22” ($89) and 26” ($99) sizes. There are also 34” Wheeled Duffel and Wheeled Carry-On Upright options available for $199. Rounding out the collection is a Convertible Carry-On with a duffel-style front compartment and a front panel waterproof, fleece-lined tablet pocket that is available for $99.

The full line of Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 High Sierra products, including the new apparel, hydration packs, Back to School packs, hiking packs, and luggage will be on display throughout the 2015 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market at the High Sierra booth #20041.
