Gregory Mountain Products, the industry leader in backpacks and adventure travel gear, has completely redesigned its renowned Denali pack and will reintroduce it for Fall 2014 in all-new 100 and 75 liter volumes. By utilizing the best time-tested technologies for the harsh alpine environment, Gregory has created the worlds most reliable, and comfortable expedition bag. In addition, Gregory is launching the Verte series - versatile, lightweight packs designed for the summit push.
“Our Denali packs are for serious alpinists to stand up to the toughest mountaineering conditions,” says John Sears, Gregory’s global director of product development. “The Denali was designed to be a reliable and trusted partner that is tough and earns your trust over time. Based upon testing feedback by IFMGA guides and elite athletes, we redesigned the suspension and feature set on the Denali to make it more functional and comfortable than ever.”
The Denali 100 and 75 utilize the FusionFlex Pro suspension that is rated to carry 80 pounds and is a dual aluminum stay with an anti-barreling cross stabilization system that is proprietary to Gregory. A canting harness automatically adjusts to individual shoulder angles while the strippable 3D pre-curved expedition waistbelt uses dual density LifeSpan EVA foam for optimal weight transfer of heavy loads. This suspension allows users to comfortably place huge loads on their skeletal structure, close to their center of gravity, setting a new bar for performance available in a large expedition pack. The pack’s aluminum stays, waist belt, top lid, and bivy pad can all be removed for shorter ascents while a dual layer, internally laminated TPU front panel protects against crampons and ice tools. On the interior, a center divider transforms the dual front pockets into a single large compartment for versatility in how the pack is set up. The 100 liter pack will retail for $399 and the 75 liter version will be $359.
“Our Verte line is designed with all the features you’d want in a summit pack, and nothing you don’t,” adds Sears.
The Gregory Verte 25 and 15 have removable foam framesheets and waistbelts and can stuff into itself for the ultimate in packability. The packs have dual ice axe loops and a daisy chain, a hydration port and sleeve. A custom aluminum hook closure provides single motion quick action access to the main bag. The Verte 25 and 15 retail for $99 and $59 respectively.
