ENO Honored as REI’s Vendor Partner of the Year

Salt Lake City, UT - Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO), creators of packable travel hammocks and fun outdoors accessories, received REI’s top accolade at its 2014 Vendor Partners of the Year event last week. Held during the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade show, REI, the leading outdoor retailer, also named Kühl, Thule and Osprey Packs as divisional winners.

The Vendor Partner of the Year awards program was established by REI in 1993. Each year, companies are nominated by the co-op’s three merchandising divisions – camp/travel, actionsports and outdoorwear – for their efforts to build a strategic and successful relationship focused on meeting member and customer needs, and to bring quality, innovation, outdoor stewardship and performance to the industry. REI retail employees vote on the slate of nominees.

“ENO redefined the hammock category and saw amazing growth in 2014,” says Susan Viscon, senior vice president REI Merchandising. “They are the consummate vendor partner. With their highly engaged, collaborative and strategic approach, they worked closely with REI to continue to deliver product and maintained above-market performance through the year.”

Nominated for a divisional award in January 2013, ENO’s co-owner and president, Peter Pinholster, said the company is honored to have sustained such a great relationship with the co-op over the years.

“It was a great achievement to be simply nominated in 2013, so to walk away with the highest award possible this year is a dream come true,” said Pinholster. “REI has been a fantastic partner from day one, and we look forward to many more awesome years in their stores.”
