Deuter innovates bringing German engineering to packs designed for North American Market

New AirLite Series and ACT Trial Pro debut and Outdoor Retailer

LONGMONT, COLORADO – Employing the brand’s trusted German engineering, Deuter USA introduces its premier North American specific line of packs, the AirLite series, at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2014. Deuter USA will also unveil a fully featured ACT Trail Pro including a new ergonomically designed suspension system. Both the AirLite series and the ACT Trail Pro will debut at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah August 5th-9th, 2014.

Built on the award-winning AirComfort back system, Deuter’s new AirLite series features an extended back length and low-profile mesh shoulders straps to enhance fit, comfort and freedom of movement for the North American consumer. The AirLite series ranges in size from 14L ($99) to 28L ($119) with three SL models. Lightweight and ventilated with a clean and streamlined design, all AirLite packs are panel loading and hydration compatible with added front stuff-it pocket storage.

“The demand for smaller technical packs, below 30 liters, is increasing. Consumers want the same technical fit, form and function in small capacity packs they've come to expect from their larger multi-day packs,” said Bill Hartrampf, President of Deuter USA. “In creating the AirLite series, Deuter addresses that demand with a new range of light, clean looking and well thought out AirComfort packs.”

Introduced more than 30 years ago, Deuter’s AirComfort back system revolutionized the backpack market. The mesh back creates air space between backpack and wearer for a significant reduction in perspiration, up to 25 percent.

Also debuting at Outdoor Retailer is the Deuter ACT Trail Pro, 38 SL and 40L ($169). The ACT Trail Pro is crafted on a new ergonomically formed AirContact back system with spring steel wire frame to reduce perceived weight. A flush-mounted waist belt with auto-compress pull forward adjustment maintains compression around the hips while still allowing for full range of movement. Contoured to hug the body, the ACT Trail Pro distributes weight more evenly across the back, hips and shoulders giving users the feeling their load is lighter than it actually is.

All products will be available at retail February 2015.
