SANTA ROSA, Calif. (April 20, 2011)Buff, Inc., known for stylish, versatile and innovative headwear, will sponsor two-time Leadville Trail 100 winner, Rebecca Rusch for a consecutive year. Since focusing her efforts exclusively on cycling, Rebecca has become one of the most winning endurance riders in the world. Her trophy case includes medals from victories at the 24-Hour and Master’s World Championships. In 2010, Rebecca not only defended her Leadville title (setting a new women’s course record in the process) but was also named “Mountain Biker of the Year” at the Competitor Group’s “Endurance Live” award show.

Buff, Inc. has increased Rebecca’s endorsement salary and has added performance incentives for five high-profile races including the XC National Championships in Sun Valley, ID and the Leadville Trail 100. Rebecca has become a torchbearer for women’s cycling and this summer will travel the United States with the SRAM Gold Rusch tour, clinics and events to pique women’s interest in the outdoors and cycling. Buff, Inc. will seed Buff® products to media and key influencers at each of the tour’s five stops.

“As one of the most decorated cyclists in the U.S., Rebecca is a superb ambassador for the Buff® brand,” said Shirley Choi Brunetti, general manager and vice president, Buff, Inc. “We’re confident that Rebecca’s objectives with developing women’s cycling along with her incredible racing goals will be met and continue to flourish beyond this year.”

Rebecca, also known as “Reba” and the “Queen of Pain,” has almost as many nicknames as ways she likes to wear her Buff® products. She performance-tested the prototype Seamless Headband Buff®, now available online and in stores, at some of her finest race performances including the Leadville 100 and La Ruta de los Conquistadores in 2010.

“The new Seamless Headband Buf® has helped me perform in extreme conditions,” Rebecca said. “It’s been perfect in the hot, muggy Costa Rican weather as well as the cold of a morning in Leadville at 10,000 feet. Racing and training all over the world, I’ve put my Buff® through the paces and it always keeps sweat, mud, and cold air from affecting my rides. This year, with an upgraded contract with Buff, Inc. that includes incentives for podium finishes, I’m more hungry than ever to perform at my peak.”

The Seamless Headband Buff® is designed to fit comfortably under a helmet. Cyclists love its size and functionality as a helmet liner, headband or skullcap. Made with CoolMax® Extreme, it blocks 95 percent of UV rays, wicks sweat, keeps you cool in hotter months, and provides an extra layer of warmth to slide over your ears on cold days. Its Polygiene® silver ion treatment prevents odor-causing bacteria and keeps your helmet and headband smelling fresh. $13 MSRP

The Gold Rusch Tour will run concurrently with Rebecca’s racing schedule. For the latest news, results, and giveaways, visit Rebecca’s official website at: http://www.rebeccarusch.com/.
