SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2011) – Buff, Inc., known for stylish, versatile and multifunctional headwear, has renewed its sponsorship of angling celebrity Peter Miller’s “Get Lit” competitive fishing team. The team rang in its fourth year of Buff, Inc. sponsorship with a dominant showing at the recent Miami Mayor’s Cup.

Team Get Lit’s Mayor’s Cup success included Captain Quinton Dieterle taking home the coveted “Top Captain” honor. As a team, Get Lit beat out 50 other boats, took home $65,000 in prize money, netted a two-day total of 29 sailfish catches, and received the title of “Top Boat Overall.”

“Our dominance in the tournament was striking and it’s a testament to the strength and history of Get Lit,” Miller said. “We’re grateful to have Buff, Inc. on board for another year and excited to prove that Get Lit is no longer the perennial ‘cinderella’ of the tour. Buff® headwear is great for your skin and allows the team to do what we love for endless hours in the sun, without paying for it later. You will see the entire Get Lit team proudly wearing Buff® product all season long, it’s extremely versatile as head, neck, and face protection. What a fantastic product.”

With global name recognition as the premier sailfishing and offshore team in the Southeastern U.S., Team Get Lit has been crowned world champion three times. They have won or placed in over 80 high profile billfish tournaments, resulting in career earnings of over $3 million. In the team’s 20-year history, Get Lit has broken the most tournament records of any team and holds the U.S. record for the most sailfish releases in a single tournament. Miller and Get Lit are an enthusiastic and well-publicized group who will increase Buff, Inc.’s exposure in the angling market. In return, Buff, Inc. is providing the team with financial support to offset travel and tournament entry expenses plus custom Team Get Lit UV Buff® headwear with the team’s logo. Buff, Inc.’s support extends to the team’s 12 tournament appearances for 2011.

Sun exposure and protection are chief concerns for the team while competing in tournaments for hours at a time. With Buff® products, including the UV Buff® made with CoolMax® Extreme fabric that blocks 95-percent of UV rays, to the Insect Shield® UV Buff® that incorporates an odorless, non-toxic insect repellent bound to the Coolmax® fabric, the team’s head, face, neck, ears, and nose are always protected from sunburn and bothersome insects.

Get Lit uses the Buff, Inc. premium-quality Pro-Series Fighting Work Gloves for optimal hand protection that enhances dexterity, grip, and offers the highest degree of UV protection (UPF 50+).

In 2011, Buff, Inc. will release its new Water Glove, an all-purpose angling glove for spin casting, fly fishing, kayak fishing, and paddling. Made with lightweight and breathable Durable Power stretch fabric, the Water Gloves naturally contour to the hand. The wet/dry silicone palm improves grip in all weather and water conditions, ensuring ultimate control and precise hand movements. With a UPF rating of 50 and longer cuffs, the Water Gloves provide exceptional sun protection.
