In this episode of The Innovation Project, Heather Svahn talks about the employee-owned Mountain Hardware and Sports in Truckee, California.

The store started out as an Ace Hardware store, and still carries everything you'd expect to need for a home improvement project.

"When they [customers] walk into Mountain Hardware and Sports, it's going to be a treasure hunt," Svahn says, adding that it's easy to get sidetracked and spend a ton of time wandering around the store.

Being 100% employee-owned makes each person on the team put customer service at the forefront of everything they do. "We're all invested in making our company better, keeping it live and thriving in the community," Svahn says.

This project was produced in partnership with Mountain Hardware. Cinematography by Caveman Collective.
