August 6, 2007; Seymour, CT- Customers no longer need to thumb through large fit guides or wait for an available sales person to find the right rack system for their vehicle. Thule's TIPP (Thule Interactive Point-of-Purchase) system, a self-service, touch-screen kiosk, delivers real time rack fit information on the sales floor allowing consumers and dealers to quickly match the appropriate rack system specific to their vehicle and gear carrying needs.

“The TIPP kiosks feature a fast-paced, dynamic full motion video that is certain to catch the interest of customers and enhance their shopping experience,” said TJ Hanson, Thule Inc. VP Marketing. “Additionally, sales staff will be able to service customers faster and more accurately, as they will have the latest fit and product information available at the tip of their finger.”

The TIPP system is offered as a stand alone kiosk or an upgrade to Thule's Rack Patrol point-of-purchase display. The system features a touch-screen display with easy navigation to assist in selecting a rack. Along with fit configuration and product information, the TIPP system features informative product demonstrations and general rack information. After selecting a rack system, a list of all the selected components can be printed as a shopping list for an efficient sales process.

Each TIPP kiosk is networked to Thule to ensure that it contains the most current information. However, dealers will be able to customize their units with their current pricing, stock keeping unit (sku) numbers, and adjust for any promotions.

Thule plans to expand the functionality of the TIPP system in the future with such features as its Rack it Scienceâ„¢ sales training program. With Rack it Science accessible on the sales floor, staff can be up to date with the latest Thule products and news.

Thule's TIPP system will debut at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, UT, August 9-12, 2007 and be available for select distribution this fall.
