“We are ecstatic to have Kaci’s energy, enthusiasm and expertise as a part of the EAC”, says James Russell Gill III, UROC’s Race Director and CEO of Bad to the Bone Sports. “Kaci’s accomplishments, including her 2016 win at the Western States Endurance Run, speak for themselves. She is very involved in the sport and we look forward to her feedback and ideas.”

“I feel honored to be joining the UROC Elite Advisory Council” says Kaci Lickteig. “I look forward to working with the other Elite Advisory Council members to uphold the mission of UROC and make it a championship race for all.” Kaci’s sponsors include Nike Trail, Honey Stinger, Squirrel's Nut Butter and Carmichael Training System.

The race, set for May 13, 2017, will be hosted by stunning Skylark Nature Preserve and Lodge, located on the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. UROC will offer three options for runners: 100k, 50k and 25k. The cash purse in the 100k race will total $21,400. The point-to-point course, comprised of mostly single track trails with some gravel roads and a few miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway, will challenge all athletes without favoring one particular specialization. Registration is now open at www.ultraroc.com. Runners can follow UROC on social media on Facebook and Twitter (@UROCUltraRace). About Skylark Nature Preserve and Lodge

Skylark occupies a mile and a half of frontage along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains of the George Washington National Forest. In early years, prior to the Parkway being built in the 1930's, Skylark was a sheep farm. Then in the 1960's, it became a Christmas trees farm, including Fraser firs and thousands of planted pines. In 2010, Craig and Anne Colberg bought Skylark. They continue to operate the tree farm as well as utilize the facilities as a retreat center. Notably the land has been put in a conservation easement, held by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, to be protected forever in its natural state. The Colberg's have subsequently added additional adjacent land which now totals almost 500 acres. More information can be found at http://www.skylarkva.com/ and http://www.discoverskylark.com/
