The Coleman Company, Inc., an international leader in the innovation and marketing of outdoor products, announced today that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Exxel Outdoors, Inc., in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, a court known for its expertise in patent cases. Coleman asserts that Exxel Outdoors has infringed on three patents relating to unique sleeping bag features developed by Coleman, including Coleman's Comfort Cuffâ„¢ feature.
The three Coleman patents are U.S. Patent Nos. 6,901,614; 6,964,072; and D504,552.
Coleman's complaint seeks a permanent injunction that would prohibit Exxel Outdoors from continuing to infringe Coleman's patents. Coleman also seeks monetary damages as compensation for Exxel Outdoors' violation of Coleman's intellectual property rights.
Coleman invests heavily in its intellectual property and takes appropriate measures to ensure protection of its rights for the benefit of its customers, retailers and shareholders, as in the newly filed lawsuit against Exxel Outdoors.
