New and updated gloves, shorts, jerseys, jackets and helmets debut at 2017 Interbike OutDoor Demo
The Norwegian-based Sweet Protection, manufacturers of top-tier mountain bike helmets and apparel, will introduce their 2018 helmets and apparel at this year’s Interbike OutDoor Demo, hosted in Bootleg Canyon on September 18-19 in Boulder City, NV.
Sweet Protection continues their tradition of creating the finest quality bike hard and softgoods available with an all-new helmet, new gloves and new apparel options.
“Sweet Protection believes that you should be able to feel comfortable on your bike no matter what the conditions are like,” said Christian Erga, head of marketing for Sweet. “We think riders should have equipment that allows them to take their mind off the gear they are wearing so they can focus solely on the road or trail in front of them and our newest offering will help accomplish that.”
Following in the footsteps of the extremely popular and new for 2017 Bushwhacker II MTB helmet line (which is dropping in price for the 2018 season), Sweet Protection brings roadies into the fold with the precision engineered Outrider ($129) and Outrider MIPS ($169) helmets. These sleek, do-it-all road helmets offer the latest in protection technology and are perfect for riders who want a lightweight helmet that keeps them cool and protected. Offered in men’s and women’s versions, the Outrider combines a two-piece shell with in-mold construction to create a high performance helmet that perfectly blends the protection you need with the ventilation you want.
Sweet is also introducing updated versions of the Dissenter ($129) and Dissenter MIPS ($169) MTB helmets for men and brand new Dissenter models for women. Designed for versatility and offered at a lower price point for 2018, this helmet transitions seamlessly from the trail to the morning commute simply by removing the visor.
In the apparel category, Sweet Protection is rounding out their Hunter, Crossfire and Badlands Collections with the addition of new shorts, bibs, jerseys, jackets, and sleeves, providing options for riding in all situations, from hot and dry to cool and damp… and everything in between.
New additions to the singletrack-specific Hunter line include the men’s and women’s Hunter Light shorts ($99) as well as the men’s Hunter Light SS ($49) jersey and men’s Hunter Race ($69) jersey. Perfect for high intensity rides and warmer weather, the Hunter Light SS jersey is made of lightweight wicking material for excellent moisture management. This jersey pairs perfectly with the Hunter Light Shorts, which combine an inseam length ideal for casual riders with laser-cut ventilation holes and durable yet breathable material to keep your lower body cool. And when long sleeves are in order, the Hunter Race jersey blends extra protection on your arms with mesh panels to both increase breathability and improve fit.
Also joining the Hunter collection for 2018 is Sweet’s first ever line of gloves. Offered in the Hunter Mid ($29), the Hunter Light men’s and women’s ($34) and the Hunter Race ($39), these new gloves will let you pick your poison depending on where you live and what type of riding you enjoy.
For the roadies among us (or mountain bikers who sometimes dabble), Sweet’s Crossfire Collection is expanding to include new bib shorts, socks, and sleeves. Considered the ultimate in comfort and performance by those who know, the Crossfire Bib ($149) short for men and women is a go-to on the road or under your baggies. With a race oriented chamois and mesh suspenders, these shorts will keep you comfortable on the longest rides.
The Crossfire Merino Sleeves ($29) are warm and packable, making them an ideal choice for rides where temperatures will fluctuate. Snug and breathable, Sweet’s new Crossfire Socks ($14) and Crossfire Merino Socks ($19) offer style and fit for excellent performance in a variety of conditions.
Finally, Sweet is proud to introduce the men’s and women’s Badlands Merino Short Sleeve Jersey ($59). Taking inspiration from their wildly popular Badlands Merino LS Jersey, these warmer weather tops do an outstanding job of wicking moisture to help keep you cool. Sweet sources only the finest merino available and offers these jerseys at a great price.
Sweet Protection will be attending the OutDoor Demo at this year’s Interbike show in Las Vegas. If you would like to swing by the booth, please contact johnnie Kern (firstname.lastname@example.org) or visit booth #D3224.
